Most cats stay within a 3-5 block radius. Search at dawn and dusk when it's quiet. Bring treats, their favourite toy, and a flashlight to check under porches and in bushes.
File a report here and with Calgary Animal Services (311). Post on YYC Pet Recovery Facebook group. Contact Calgary Humane Society and local shelters daily.
Place their litter box and worn clothing outside your door. The familiar scent can guide them home from blocks away. Leave food out at night and check early morning.
Talk to neighbours and ask them to check garages, sheds, and under decks. Leave flyers with a clear photo. Many cats get accidentally locked in neighbours' garages.
Post large, waterproof signs at intersections near where your cat was last seen. Include a clear photo, your phone number, and the word "REWARD" — it gets attention.
Cats have been found weeks or even months after going missing. Keep checking shelters, refreshing online posts, and searching the neighbourhood. Indoor cats often hide nearby.
Check their stray intake daily. Cats brought in by Animal Services end up here.
