Check garages, sheds, under porches, and in trees. Cats often hide close to home.

Calgary's 311 line can check if your cat has been picked up by Animal Services.

Contact local vets
Someone may have brought your cat to a nearby vet clinic. Also check with MEOW Foundation and Calgary Humane Society.

Post on YYC Pet Recovery
The YYC Pet Recovery Facebook group is Calgary's largest lost pet network with 100K+ members.
Be as specific as possible — include street names and neighbourhood

What to Do With a Found Cat

Check for a microchip
Any vet clinic will scan for free. This is the fastest way to find the owner.

Report the found cat to Calgary Animal Services. They track lost pet reports.

Keep safe temporarily
If possible, keep the cat in a safe space (bathroom or garage) with food and water while searching for the owner.

Many indoor cats that escape look disheveled quickly. Give it time before rehoming.
